What is an M3U playlist?
M3U is a plain text file listing channels: a name, a logo, a group and a stream address for each one. Your provider gives you a link to that file, often ending in .m3u, .m3u8 or containing get.php. The player downloads the whole list and sorts it into groups.
What is Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes is a login system: a server URL, a username and a password. Instead of one big file, the player asks the server for what it needs: live categories, the movie library, series with seasons and episodes, and programme info for what is on now and next.
